AC 100A Split-Core Current Sensor (SCT013 – 100A / 50mA)
Product Description

The SCT013 100A / 50mA is a split-core AC current transformer (CT) designed for non-invasive measurement of alternating current up to 100A. Thanks to its clip-on design, it can be installed safely without disconnecting existing wiring, making it ideal for energy monitoring, power measurement, and protection systems.

This model provides a current output (50mA at rated current) and does not include a built-in burden resistor, allowing flexible use with external signal conditioning circuits, energy meters, and microcontroller-based systems.

Key Features
  • Split-core, non-intrusive current measurement
  • Measures AC current only
  • Current output type (external burden resistor required)
  • Safe electrical isolation from high-voltage lines
  • Stable performance and good linearity
  • Easy clip-on installation

Microcontroller Compatibility

Can be used with Arduino, STM32, ESP8266, ESP32, and other microcontrollers when combined with an external burden resistor and appropriate signal conditioning to convert the output current into a measurable voltage suitable for ADC inputs.

Typical Applications
  • AC current measurement
  • Energy and power monitoring
  • Smart meters
  • Home automation and IoT projects
  • AC motor and equipment monitoring
  • Overcurrent detection and protection circuits
Important Notes
  • AC current only (not suitable for DC measurement)
  • Requires an external burden resistor
  • Output must be conditioned before connecting to ADC inputs
  • Ensure correct burden resistor selection to avoid sensor saturation
